| For the better part of the last 25 years the battle cry "we do the blues" has been heard throughout the west bank. Whiskey Junction has been providing quality entertainment and blues acts throughout the Twin Cities and is indubitably among the best known blues clubs in the Midwest. The motorcycle enthusiast community has always embraced this area as their own, and with the increased popularity of sport riding many riders make this a hot-spot destination. The riders that visit are treated to a "bike only" parking area, which becomes an impromptu bike show for all to enjoy. The atmosphere at Whiskey Junction is always casual and in the summer the outdoor bar & café are always a popular place for great food, cold drinks and people watching. The future is looking great for Whiskey Junction, as each day more people discover how close to Downtown the Whiskey is for a quick lunch ride, a stop-off on the light rail, or an after work cocktail meeting with friends and co-workers. Whiskey Junction is located on the Franklin Avenue rail stop and makes a popular stop for the newest Twin Cities sensation, the light rail "Pub Crawl". Its not unusual to see a group of 30 to 40 patrons come off the light rail and file in to enjoy the music, a couple of drinks and a pizza slice before moving on to the next stop. Vikings football is big here. Before each home game Whiskey plays host to several hundred fans who come before the game for a warm-up bloody and the breakfast buffet before heading on the rail to the Dome. Whiskey has an 18-foot TV screen as well as another dozen TVs to cover the action. Cheerleaders and celebrities are often among the crowd. The Whiskey Junction is also active in the community. Most recently Whiskey hosted the "Ladies sing the blues" benefit to raise funds for the "Hope Chest" against breast cancer, featuring a gathering of the top female vocalists in the Twin Cities. The show was an outstanding success and helped raise much needed funds for a great cause.
