A beautiful day for a trip to the fair. Well, we didn't go to the fair, but the county fairgrounds in Farmington. That's were the Viking Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America was holding their big weekend bike show and swapmeet. This is always a favorite of mine, including the Indian Tacos.
Roger(shown to the right) had a great day for this ride, a slightly overcast sky and temperatures staying below the 90's that we had the last few days. It was a nice ride out to the fairgrounds, and once there we were treated to the wonderful world of antique motorcycles in a way that the AMCA is so good at doing.
Good job Roger and the AMCA.

June 22 was the evening of the return of the Blacksmith Run. I did a lot of traveling last year and didn't get a chance to lead this ride then. I heard about it this year. People actually missed the ride, so I made sure I got it done.
It was a beautiful evening, and I don't think it could have been any better. The sun was shining, and the temperature was in the low 90's. It was great not having to worry about rain on this ride. One thing people seemed to miss was the small section of dirt road. That spot was bad enough that a certain rider lost his saddle bag there a few years ago. This year, that section of road has been raised up, leveled off and paved over. Very smooth, very nice. Actually that was done last year, but like I said, we didn't do that ride last year.
The whole run went without a hitch and there was only a couple of minutes separation between the first and the last arriving at the Blacksmith in Hugo.
People hung around there and had good food, good drinks, and good fun. Always a great ride. Looking forward to next year.

Keith led the ride on 6/11/05. It was a great ride that left about 20 minutes to eleven, even though it was supposed to be a 10:00 leave(West Bank time). For about 3 1/2 hours we rode east and south and north and west and up and down and everywhere, all around the town. Too bad we got hit by rain. Just enough so that Smoker pulled under a bank canopy and let people sign out for the ride and go home if they wanted. I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. It was only a few minutes and a couple of miles more and we arrived at the destination. There we were greeted with friendly faces, shelter, food, beverages, and biker talk and making new friends! Other WestBankers were there too. Some arrived before us and some after.
