Last Ride - Sep 30, 2006 - Don's Bar & Grill, New Trier, MN

Lucky us - The last ride greeted us with wonderful weather. Pat S. got us out of town rather quickly; shooting out 94 east and then down 52 and 55 which dropped us in Hastings. From there twisted through the reservation, by Treasure Island and on to one of the more twisty back roads which placed us on 61 for a short hop to Welch. County 7 out of Welch is a nice curvy road which is great riding in either fast or slow mode. After 7 ended we headed west to Vasa, took a right in Cannon Falls and after a short hop northwest we were in front of Dan's Bar & Grill. Everyone seemed to be very hungry judging from the number of food orders. The grill looked to be overworked but the cook kept things moving and the service was great - Once the procedure of distributing the food was established (Loud yelling of the order always works pretty well). After everyone was fully fueled there was lots of daylight left for more riding. Some headed back into Hastings and others took to the big hill overlooking Red Wing.

A small group, lead by Paul 'we can always stop an look at the map' Moore, used the sunny Sunday for a great twisty, turn'e ride on the back roads that took us to Eau Galle for a short stop next to the falls. We then found more twisty back roads as we searched for and found Blank Hill Road as we headed out of Waumandee on 88. This is another 'Must Ride' Road as is 'Yager Valley Road' if you stay to the left as you head west and then north. Lastly it was on to Alma to take in the great view from Buna Vista Park which overlooks Alma. V
The final leg was to Prescott for shrimp. Arriving in Prescott at the Pilot House there was Mark, Hubert, Kara, Tracy and Scott with Mike Green and Karen just leaving. They had taken a jaunt to Maiden Rock for some leaf watching (or so they said).
