Answers to web site related questions:

Q01. I don't see updates to pages; Some of the pages don't have consistent type faces.
A01. Try pressing F5 (Refresh). Some browsers, like FireFox & Opera, do not always display the same as Internet Explorer. If you do not see 'proper' pages on FireFox or Opera then try Internet Explorer. If IE's display is better then it is likley something I've done - such as a typo or misplaced/missing tag in the pages HTML code. Drop a note to the webmaster with information on malformed pages or text, include the name of the browser your using and the version .   OR update to current IE v6, FireFox v2, Opera ?

Q02. I don't see the member pictures or sponsor ads at the top right of the page
A02. Display of the pictures and ad's relies on JaveScript. Your browsers security settings may be set to not allow JavaScript to run. If you see a yellow banner near the top of your browser window then that's probaby asking you if you'd like to enable JaveScript - Select Yes to see the Ad's and Pictures.

Q03. The web site really sucks  itz a mess and looks prettie lousey. igots a bike can i ride wit you guys. do you go fast
A03.  Thank you for the feedback.
This kind of comment will be ignored. Without some information as to what kind of browser is being used, what operating system (PC (windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista), MAC (OSx) , unix/Linux, etc), monitor size and resolution, and which page or pages along with what did you click on (if it applys) doesn't help to find or correct the problem.
On my end every thing looks as good as I've got time to deal with it ('it' being layouts, colors, typo's...).
Here is a picture of what I see on my monitor as of today, 13Dwc2007.
    Internet Explorer v6 & v7        FireFox v2.0   ( Monitor: View Sonic VA912b;  Resolution is 1280 x 1024 )

Dear Friends, clients, and Family,

For years I have been explaining to clients how to maintain their PC systems. Finally it occured to me that I should write these procedures down and share them with the world. Now you can have something that you can Duct Tape to the wall and refer to as needed.

I have put together a "cheat sheet" for doing monthly maintenance on your computers to make sure they continue to run smoothly and efficiently. Please look it over and share it with your friends. If you find any glaring errors, please let me know. (This is version 1.0...)

Make sure that you are running both Anti-virus AND anti-spyware programs. We reccomend AVG and Windows Defender, respectively. Always back up your important data regularly also! It can be a life saver when your hard drive crashes.

Merry Christmas!
    Love, Pat Cremin, CCS

CCS recommends that you perform the following maintenance activities monthly to keep your computer running smoothly and efficiently. This procedure is written for Windows XP computer systems. Call us if you need help!!!

1. BACKUP YOUR IMPORTANT DATA AND STORE A COPY 'OFF SITE'.

2. Delete unwanted Emails:
DO NOT keep old emails in Outlook or Outlook Express, especially ones with large attachments. Save the attachments, if needed, then delete the emails.
Monthly: Choose the empty deleted items folder option from somewhere in your pull down menus – usually under “file” or “edit”.
Then Compress all folders – usually under the “file” menu option.

3. Delete Temporary internet files:
Right click on the Internet Explorer icon
Left click properties
Delete all cookies, history, and temporary internet files

4. Disk cleanup:
Double click “my computer” *
Right click on “C: drive icon
Left click on properties (last option)
Run the disk cleanup procedure
NOTE: you can check all the options EXCEPT Compress old Files
NOTE: NEVER, EVER check the compress drive to save space option on this screen. BAD things can (and usually do) happen…

5. Scandisk:
Click Error Checking
Check both boxes and click OK
If prompted to schedule the scandisk for the next time you restart the computer, then say ok.
If scandisk finds errors, run it again, EVEN IF it says it fixed them all.
*-If the My Computer icon is not on your desktop, then right click on your taskbar (to the right of the start button), left click on properties, {this is a good time to uncheck the hide inactive icons option while here, if it is checked}, click the start menu tab at the top of the screen, and check the “Classic Menu” option.

6. Defragmentation:
Once scandisk has run and reported no errors, run the defragment program
Double click “my computer” *
Right click on “C: drive icon
Left click on properties (last option)
Click the Tools tab at the top of the screen
Click defragment and let it do its thing
When done, close all windows.

7. Windows Manual updates:
Click Start button and choose Windows Updates
This will open your web browser
Follow the prompts as needed, usually choosing “express”
Make sure your system is set to receive automatic updates and install them any time you see the yellow shield with an explanation mark in it down by the clock. These are important updates!

8. Make sure your anti-virus and anti-spyware software is up to date and then run Full System Scans.

General rules:
1. Common Sense is your best friend. Trust your instincts!
2. Don’t download ANYTHING “FREE” from the internet.
3. Don’t go to porno web sites, FREE music web sites, etc. These often infect your computers with malware.
4. Don’t let children use computers unattended.
5. Don’t install any cutsie screen savers, they can crash your system.
6. NEVER open suspicious emails, even if they are from someone you know. Stop and check with them first! Don’t respond to emails asking you for your passwords or account information. Reputable companies NEVER ask for this online, but scammers do!
7. NEVER give out your personal information, unless it is a web site you know and trust and initiated contact with. Then make sure it is a Secure website. You can tell by looking at the web site name. It should start with “HTTPS”
